So it started snowing the evening of March 5, 2013, and we ended up getting a significant amount (about 5 inches accumulation), and it stuck around for a few days before temperatures rose and everything melted. I, of course, cursed like the dickens, but Yaya was ecstatic and thoroughly enjoyed the snow. She finally got to go out and build a snowman! The other snowfalls this winter had either been too powdery to make snowmen, or too little snow had accumulated for proper snowman building, or we left town before Yaya could build one.

Here are a few pictures of the yard in the snow:

Front yard, lonely mailbox by the unploughed street
Snow in the back yard

The kids went out to play and Vin shoveled a little. It was too cold and powdery at the time so the snowman did not get built properly.

What is this stuff?
Rolling up a big snowball for the snowman
Yaya continues to work on the snowball while Adik checks things out (and Papa has shoveled bits of the back driveway)

The next day, the snow is wetter and heavier (harder to shovel) but perfect for building the snowman!

Yaya "helps" Papa shovel

The next day, we all get dressed for the snow and go outside to check out the snowman. Yaya has begged and whined so Vin found some articles of clothing with which to dress the dude.

All bundled up!

Some melting had occurred overnight. The snowman's face has fallen off! Vin to the rescue!

Carrot on the ground! The snowman's face has melted!

While Vin works to repair the dude, Yaya, Adik and I run around the house.

Bright eyed, bushy tailed, and tiger-hatted
Jumping in what's left of the snow

And here is the snowman, in all his glory!

Cool dude!
Let's hold hands
Yaya is so happy the snowman has clothes!
Adik is happy to just be running around outside
Everyone say "cheeeese"
Let's all be snowmen!
I love how everyone's trying to get Adik to smile

The next day, it was light's out for the snowman. He fell over on his face and I think he may have even gotten run over by the car when we backed out of the garage.

Bye, dude. Ouch...

The kids played in the snow some more:

Yaya hops in the deepest drift left, by the back porch
I'm on top of the snow mountain! I'm sitting on some freaking cold stuff!
Can we go now, Mama?

The next day, the snowman was completely melted leaving a puddle with clothes and a carrot on the ground. It was fun while it lasted! Don't come back soon, Snow, you hear???
