Over the Merdeka Day Weekend, we received some visitors, two of which lived back at the Tenth Floor with us back in the day
Cikma, Ayah Cik the Younger and Ciksu travelled to the north all the way from Kuala Lumpur to spend time with us. Also, Irfan had some questions about Steam to ask Ayah Cik.
After an afternoon at Padang Besar where no padang besars could be found, we had dinner at the beach in Kuala Perlis, which for some reason I keep calling "Kuala Selangor" by mistake for no good reason.
Maghrib prayers were performed at Masjid Kuala Perlis which was built over water off the town promenade. It was the first time I visited this mosque. Unfortunately it was low tide.
The next day, despite all odds Ain succeeded in organising an excursion to Gua Kelam. It was a great morning with clear skies. Unfortunately, some of the lighting within the cave were dead, so some stretches of the tunnel were nearly pitch black. Thankfully we had light on our phones to illuminate our way.
Ain made mee goreng for picnic consumption, but Irfan was sad that he could not swim in the river at the picnic grounds. The water was murky and not-too-clean, no doubt thanks to the rainfall the previous night.
Then we discovered a creek of clear water which fed into the main river. It was full of little striped fishies. A minute later, it was full of little striped fishies, plus Irfan. Also, Ayah Cik. Then, Cikma and Ciksu.
Irfan partook in some sort of river-bound cranial massage.
Needless to say, the day turned out much, much better than what Irfan expected it to be. He would totally return to the stream to splash around in it some more.
I did not get myself wet because I wanted to take photos. And to keep an eye on our stuff.
Next visit, I will absolutely get myself into the battle creek brawl.
