About

Welcome to Hishgraphics, where the brother and sister team of Hisham and Sila blogs from opposite sides of this slimy mudhole. They share their thoughts, recent happenings, photos (and some art) which most probably be of little interest to anyone but close family and friends. This blog was created using the Open Source CMS known as Pivot.

It was show and tell time at school, so little Ayumu Kasuga brought her pet that she found washed ashore along Osaka bay. She could not really recall how she came to have it, or how she brought it home... or even how she got it to school for show and tell, but there it was like a shadow upon a shadow deep from a lingering nightmare. When it was her turn she began to speak. She was somewhat aware that she spoke in a tongue both beautiful and ugly to hear but she thought nothing of it. Some of the sounds she made did not seem possible to have vocalised by a human but she also thought nothing of this.

But her voice carried, and everyone who heard it came - even ones who were too far away to listen. Soon her class was filled with students from other classes, other teachers, random folk that had decided to visit the school for one reason or another. Even the headmaster arrived as she began her closing speech. Her pet stirred lazily as she finished. A standing ovation roared from the classroom, growing louder.

The longer they clapped elatedly, the more blood flowed from their ears, their nostrils, their eyes. Her pet reached out with its arms and embraced everybody as it turned dark outside at noon. A single thunderclap crashed, preceded by a sickly green lightning. Everyone raised their head and sang as their mouths bubbled with blood!

The next day, Ayumu Kasuga was transferred to Tokyo for no reason at all where she lived happily ever after.

THE END.

Happy new year and such!

Another month, and how quickly it passed! Granted, I only fairly recently wrote her 28 month blog (cheating and dating it earlier than it was actually written, but whatever). ;-) At least this month I'm able to work on this entry only a few days after the fact (hooray to client holiday shutdown period!!). Here she is, saying hey y'alls:

Archive | PermalinkA Bullet Of Some KindLegacy of Tron: A Tron Legacy Review

After 28 years, the sequel to Disney's Tron is finally upon us. Tron Legacy, produced by the original movie's director Steven Lisberger and directed by newcomer Joseph Kosinski, had a unique problem. Tron had a connection to the computer and gaming lore of the late 70s and early 80s, with its simple vector graphics and sounds. The home computer for the consumer was still rare. The general public had very little clue on how computers work. The World Wide Web is still almost a decade away. How can one create a modern sequel to a movie based on anachronistic world view of technology?

Very simple. Just build upon the even more fantastic elements of the first movie and move on from there.

But was it manufactured by Migou on Yuggoth is the real question.

Archive | PermalinkA Bullet Of Some KindAllie's 28 Month Birthday

I am very delinquent this month (and cheating by dating it a little earlier - it is actually much later in December that I'm writing this entry but I'm fudging the posting date to make myself feel a little better). But I will try to faithfully capture what's happened until her 28 month birthday rather than going further than that.

Well the girl has been progressing steadily, and is now speaking in half-sentences! It's crazy! We are amazed by how far she's gotten in just one month. But first she says hi:

Hello, how do you do?

And yes, she can actually say that!
