The One with the Party and the Forgotten Cake

So two weeks after Adik turned two, we had a small gathering at our house with friends and neighbors.

It was a fun time and we got to hang out and catch up with people. Adik had had a good 2-year checkup, weighing 29 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile), and measuring 36 3/4 inches tall (99th percentile). So anyways, here are some pictures at the party:

So, you ask, where are the pictures of the children crowded around a birthday cake with lit candles? Where are the adorable photos of children blowing out candles and spreading their saliva all over everything? Where are they you ask? Well, it didn't happen. The plan was:
1. Serve food to guests
2. Cake and candles
3. Presents!
We went from 1 straight to 3, and since the cake was an ice cream cake and had to stay in the freezer until it was almost time to serve, we completely forgot about it. So no cake. I only remembered it when everyone was hatted and coated and leaving. Whoops! And now we are stuck with a whole Graeter's ice cream cake! There goes my 2014 diet! 
That night, Adik fell asleep downstairs, slept through me changing his diaper, putting him in his 'jamas, taking him up and placing him in the crib. He popped up, waking up when I turned the light off in the bedroom. Grr! And since he was overtired (too much excitement of the party + no nap = berserko baby), he basically cried and whined and whimpered for another almost 2 hours before he fell asleep out of sheer exhaustion. Happy birthday, baby boy! A big thank you to everyone who came to the party with numerous presents for both kids, called, skyped, emailed, and sent cards and presents to help us celebrate Adik's second birthday!
