Allie's 21 Month Birthday
Yet another month has passed. Allie turned 21 months old on Earth Day (April 22nd). She had an action-packed day, and we all enjoyed it.

The days just pass by so quickly, that for the most part, Vin and I can barely keep track of them. This month seems to have just flown by in a blurry of work-travel, playing with Allie, trying to keep the house clean in the wake of Tornado Allie, and keeping the girl from attacking Lily too much. It's just unbelievable how much dirt and laundry such a little thing can produce! She keeps growing (and growing out of her clothes and shoes) and learning more and more. She's making up her own signs for many different things (like sleep, yawn, dance, etc.) and she's imitating a lot of the catch-phrases from TV (she gets the tone exactly right but still no actual words) and her singing is pretty amazing. She's getting the idea of singing and playing, going to the piano and pressing the keys while singing along (usually the A-B-C song). She can climb onto the piano stool, no problem, although we have to watch that she doesn't fall off the back if she's doing it by herself. An eighth tooth is popping out, and her hair keeps growing longer and longer. Allie is learning to brush her teeth and sometimes insists on brushing Vin's, my and Lily's teeth as well. It's quite funny. She is still the TV dictator, forcing us to change the channel on a whim, and if she is in the mood to dance, she goes to the TV, turns it off and does her "dance" sign - which basically looks like a flamenco dance move, one arm up over her head, two-stepping her feet. Where she got that we have no idea. But it works and gets her wishes across. She's a friendly, happy-go-lucky little girl and full of song and animal noises. She's still obsessed with animals. She will make the animal's noise when she sees it (be it a real animal like her cat or the neighbor's dog, or on TV - cartoon or otherwise, in her books, on labels, stickers, bumper stickers, etc.). If she starts making an animal noise and pointing, she is always right. It's there. We just have to look for it. And for the most part, she gets the animals right, too. (Well, she growls at gophers, I think she thinks they're bears, but since I don't really know what a gopher says, I just go with it). 
OK, let's get to the pictures. As I said before, it was an action-packed one. So here we go! In the morning, she has her usual extended breakfast and runs around with Papa:
After work, since it was a beautiful day, we went outdoors to play. First we play a little tee-ball:
One of her new favorite things is to chase after bubbles. I may seriously suck at blowing bubbles, but Allie enjoys the few bubbles that we blow that survive to be chased after. She squeals and shrieks while running around after the bubbles too. It's quite amusing.

And just before we went up for bath and bedtime, we sang her the Happy Birthday song, which made her quite happy:
After yet another fun-filled day, it was time for little girls to go to bed. It was an amazing month and we fall in love with Allie even more as the days go by. Happy 21 month birthday, baby! We love you!! And to close, a picture of Allie and her Papa taken during the day. See y'all next month!
