On the second day of Aidilfitri (September 11th), the Meis and their family came for a visit. By family we mean Mei Lin, Mei Chin, their husbands, their daughters, their parents, and their little brother Colin-boy. Hoo did you expect?
Hisham and I had to decide which of us would actually write this entry (since Mei Lin was his classmate and Mei Chin was mine). But here's my take on the day!

Mak had made chicken curry to eat with roti jala for the guests (mmm mmmmmm!) since we had basically polished off the rendang from the first day of Aidilfitri. What can I say, I haven't seen my mother's rendang in a while, and coupled with ketupat and lemang, I just could not resist. Nor did I. Not to mention Yong's righteous nasi dagang! But, back to raya day 2.
If anyone is confused, Mei Chin's little brother is called Colin, aka Colin-boy, and her husband is also called Colin (minus the "-boy"). Sadly for poor Lin-boy, in order to differentiate between him and his brother-in-law, he will always be Colin-boy in my head. Well, even if Colin (minus the "-boy") wasn't called Colin, poor Colin-boy will still forever be Colin-boy in my head. Sorry, Lin-boy.
It took a few minutes but I was finally able to get my grubby little hands on Immie:
Here are the husbands:
Shame I didn't get Hisham in this picture as well. In fact, I looked through my photos and couldn't find a decent one with Hisham in it, and Hisham was also behind the camera for a bunch of these so he was busy taking pictures as well.
Mei also gets a turn with both toddlers:
It was pretty funny, because Yaya started dogging Immie around. I think there may have been some jealousy there, especially after I held Immie. After that, whatever and whoever Immie was with, Yaya was right there with them!
Yong got a nice cuddle from Eva:
And then Eva conked out for a nice nap while everyone talked and laughed loudly (champion napper, she!):
Yaya got a present from her Aunties Mei which she insisted on putting on right away:
We made plans to meet up at the SRC swimming pool in the afternoon, and after the kids napped, here we all are, and finally I have some pictures of Hisham as well! Siew Jin met up with us and chatted while we swam:
In the above photo, Siew looks on while she stays dry on the right-hand side of the picture. It really was a fun time and the kids had a nice playdate. I hung out with the Meis and Siew again after Yaya went to bed that night, but unfortunately Mei Chin and her family had to return to Singapore so I didn't get to see them again, but I had a lot of fun and can't wait to have the kids play together again. I did get to see Siew again later on (along with Pete and Hsu), and that was awesome. Unfortunately that was an outing that did not involve the kids and therefore I have no pictorial evidence of it. Another time for a playdate, gang?
I really miss the old days when Mei (Chin) and I would hang out together all day in school and then all night on the phone with each other until one of our parents made us get off. I miss you loads, hon. I wish we had more time together - we will have to go to Singapore next time we're home. Thanks for flying home for Raya to see us, and also thanks to Mei Lin and her family, Aunty and Uncle, and Colin-boy, who also made time for us and made my Raya that much more exciting. Here's one for the albums - my gorgeous best friend and I:
